Picture shows the Greens function propagating from the initial time point t_1=t_2=0 along the time diagonal.
Along the time diagonal the electron probability density (Wigner distribution) is increasing (for this momentum value)
Notice the buildup of the oscillations across the time diagonal reflecting the electron spectrum.
Color map: electron density increases from light blue (=0) - to red (=1), away from diagonal g< oscillates between +1 and -1
