P. Danielewicz Title of talk: Parton Dynamics in Phase Space Abstract: Within QED, several issues related to constructing a parton-model-based QCD transport theory are examined. The QED analog of the transport model, the Weizsacker-Williams approximation, is rewritten in terms of phase-quantities. The phase-space photon and electron densities created by a classical point charge are studied and shown to take a distinctive source-propagator form. The phase-space analog of the generalized fuctuation-dissipation theorem is derived. The theorem and the expression for the phase-space particle self-energies give a set of coupled phase-space evolution equations that can be used perturbatively or to derive semiclassical transport equations.
