  • May 2010: Michael Bonitz is awarded a research grant of the Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung (BMBF) Zeitaufgelöste Photoionisation am FEL - nichtlineare Effekte, Korrelationen und Kohärenz in Atomen und Molekülen. The grant is worth approximately 230.000 Euros and runs three years.
  • May 2010: Christian Henning wins the prize for the best PhD thesis of the College of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (Mathematisch-Naturwissenschaftliche Fakultät) of Kiel University in 2009.
  • May 2010: Christian Henning is awarded the prize for the best theory PhD thesis of the Kiel Physics Department in 2009.
  • April 2010: Michael Bonitz is awarded a research grant of the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft for the project Theoretical description of (sub-)femtosecond dynamics of multi-electron atoms in strong UV and VUV fields. The grant is worth approximately 200.000 Euros and runs three years.

  • November 2007: Kevin Tierney (stayed in our group in summer 2007 with a DAAD-RISE stipend) wins award for the best undergraduate poster at the Division of Plasma Physics conference of the American Physical Society in Orlando. His work was supervised by Henning Baumgartner and supported by Patrick and Christian. The poster is entitled Structural properties of Yukawa tubes by K. Tierney, H. Baumgartner, Ch. Henning and M. Bonitz.
  • February 2007: Jens Böning, Andrea Fromm and Christian Henning are among the winners of the award for the best Diploma thesis 2006 of the Kiel physics department.
